Weather remains pleasant throughout the state

Kolkata, Dec 27 (UNI) Early morning fog gave way to a warmer day today in the city and its suburbs.

With temperatures soaring all over the state, minimum temperature in the city was recorded by the Alipore Met officials at 14.1 degrees Celsius, while the maximum was recorded at 26.2 degrees Celsius, a degree below normal.

The North Bengal University Recording Station said the maximum temperature in the hills was at 25 degrees Celsius and the minimum was pegged at 10.6 degrees Celsius.

The Met office officials here in the city said the minimum temperature would remain around 14 degrees Celsius.

The maximum relative humidity throughout the state remained high at around 97 per cent.

Benazir assassination bad for Pakistan, region: Natwar

New Delhi, Dec 27 (UNI) Former External Affairs Minister Natwar Singh said he was ''shattered'' at the assassination of Pakistan's former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto and said it was bad not only for Pakistan but for the entire region.
