Three-member team to inquire into human skull recovery

Giridih, Dec 27 (UNI) Mystery surrounded the three human skulls and bones recovered from a postmortem room, locked for past 40 years, in Sadar hospita in the district today.

A three-member committee formed to inquire into matter, has been directed to submit report within next two days.

Civil surgeon Anjani Kumar Mishra of the Sadar hospital here said the body remains were found in the dilapitated room which was locked for past four decades.

Mr Mishra said an FIR was lodged with the Sadar police station and police were investigating the case.

Man attempts suicide due to police harassment

Akola, Dec 27 (UNI) A man attempted to commit suicide by setting himself on fire at Mahatma Fhule Nagar in Khadan locality of the city due to harassment and extortion demands by police. Rashtrapal Rajaram Wankhade, who set himself on fire on Monday, received 22 per cent burn injuries. He was admitted in the general hospital, where he went into coma. Rashtrapal regained consciousness yesterday and narrated his woes. On October 28, Rashtrapal's mother, Ratnaprabha Wankhede had a quarrel with her.....

President not spending new year in Andaman

New Delhi, Dec 27 (UNI) Rashtrapati Bhavan has sought clarification from the Andaman and Nicobar Administration on a media report that trees were cut for making a helipad in the islands to facilitate the landing of the Presidential helicopter. The President's office has also instructed the islands' administration to undertake compensatory plantation immediately if trees had in fact been cut, a Rashtrapati Bhvan spokesperson said today. Ms Archana Datta also clarified that neither President Pratibha Devisingh Patil nor the President's family.....

Gaothans, Koliwadas, Adivasi Paadas to get FSI of 4: Mayor

Mumbai, Dec 27 (UNI) Gaothans (ancient buildings), Koliwadas and Adivasi Paadas in the city would get a boost from the State Government and the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, Mumbai Mayor Shubha Raul said here today. Speaking to the media, Dr Raul said, ''Gaothans, Koliwadas and Adivasi Paadas will be given the Floor Space Index (FSI) of 4, after BMC's proposal is cleared by the State Government.'' She said the Corporation had asked Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh to lift the stay.....
