Sugar prices steady on moderate demand

Navi Mumbai, Dec 27 (UNI) Wholesale sugar prices today maintained a a steady trend at Rs 1,430 per quintal on moderate demand by bulk consumers and sweet makers in the face of sufficient stocks, traders at the Bombay Sugar Merchants' Association said.

Following are the spot wholesale rates per quintal: Small grade: Rs 1,331/1,390, Medium grade: Rs 1,390/1,475.

Ex-mill Small grade: Rs 1,325/1,355 and Medium grade: Rs 1,375/1,450.

Mumbai, Dec 27: The Bombay Stock Exchange's benchmark Sensex today closed with a marginal gain of 24.20 points at 20,216.20 amid bouts of alternate buying and selling in blue-chip index pivotals. DHVBN completes HVDS in 100 villages

Chandigarh, Dec 27 (UNI) The Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) has completed the work of erection of High Voltage Distribution System (HVDS) or Aerial bunched/Armoured /Shielded Cables Based Distribution System (ABCDS) in 100 villages under its 'Revenue Protection Project'. 5 people arrested with 600 litres of synthetic milk

Mumbai, Dec 27 (UNI) The city police arrested five people for trying to supply synthetic milk to people at Khar Danda in the Western suburbs here today, and recovered 600 liters from their possession. According to police, the accused were arrested while they were trying to deliver the milk to customers this morning.
