Standard Chartered to launch reward programme

Mumbai, Dec 27 (UNI) India's largest international bank Standard Chartered Bank will launch a reward programme for its savings account customers using electronic banking channels.

Under the programme, the bank will pass back reward points on savings made by the customers using the electronic channels of payments. Customers will be rewarded a point for every single use as per the terms of the proposition, irrespective of the size of their transactions, the bank release said.

The reward points can be exchanged for a cash-back (1 point = Rs 1 ) into the customer's bank account.

The rewards programme will be offered to ''aXcessPlus'' and ''SmartPay'' customers.

The cash-back amount will be credited into customers' bank account on request through phonebanking or email, the release added.

Truck, bus strike in UP from New Year to protest VAT

Lucknow, Dec 27 (UNI) The Tranport Associations of Uttar Pradesh today announced an indefinte strike from January 1 to protest the implementation of Value Added Tax (VAT) regime in the state. Administration swings in action over dumping of EPIC

Sultanpur, Dec 27 (UNI) The District administration here has swung in action over dumping of Election Photo Identity Card (EPIC) in the state capital, after an inquiry was initiated on orders of the state election commission. A police team from Lucknow today examined Chanda, Sadar and Jagdishpur assembly constituencies here and will carry out inquivies at Isauli assembly seat tomorrow, official sources said. Collective approach a must to restore Dal Lake glory: Kundal

Srinagar, Dec 27 (UNI) Concerned over the deteriorating condition of the world famous Dal Lake, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Secretary B R Kundal has underscored the need for collective and coordinated approach to save the water body. Official sources said authorities have decided to disconnect electricity and water supply to all houses and other structures constructed illegally near the Lake.
