Singapore announces promotional fares to key destintions

Bangalore,Dec 27(UNI) Singapore Airlines today announced special Economy class fares to Singapore and popular cities in Malaysia from Bangalore.

Celebrating the New Year, these discounts of almost 55 per cent were only applicable on the airline's Monday morning flight - SQ501, the Singapore Airline said in a release here today.

The offer included an economy class fare of Rs 9,000 to Singapore Rs 10,000 to Kuala Lumpur/Penang and Rs 11,000 to Bangkok.

However these fares do not include the taxes and surcharges.

These fares were available for sale with immediate effect and are valid for travel between March 1 and May 3, 2008, the release added.

The Airline also announced special fares to various destinations in Vietnam, Indonesia, China, Korea, Japan, South Africa and USA . It had recently added three morning flights from Bangalore to Singapore, making it the single largest operator of International flights from Bangalore. It now offered 10 weekly flights from Bangalore to Singapore with a choice of day or night departures, UNI

Youth commits suicide after wounding beloved

Jaunpur, Dec 27 (UNI) A youth committed suicide after opening fire on his paramour and another person in Singramau area of this district. The incident occurred last evening in Firozpur village, where Ashvani Shukla (23) shot at his beloved Mamta (20) of the same village. Bhubaneswar, Dec 27 (UNI) Authorities today relaxed curfew in Phulbani town this morning while it remained in force in other areas of Kandhmal district, which had witnessed a communal clashes between tribals and Christians.
