"Punarnava" to open more referral centres abroad

Kochi, Dec 27 (UNI) Close on the heels of opening a referral Centre in London, the city-based Punarnava Ayurveda Hospital Private Limited is planning to open similar centres in South Africa and Switzerland.

Talking to reporters here today, Hospital Chairman and Managing Director Dr A M Anwar said the centres would be opened with the help of qualified local doctors and help to promote Ayurveda medicines in other countries.

'' The patients coming to these centres, if needed, will be referred to hospitals in Kerala for further traditional treatment,'' he said.

In a bid to popularise Ayurveda, various seminars had been conducted in South Africa, Qatar and the UAE as part of the 'Continuing Ayurveda Awarreness Programme' initiated by the Hospital.

Dr Anwar said a number of patients from South Africa, Switzerland, Germany and the United Kingdom underwent treatment at its various hospitals across the state.

As part of its expansion plan, a 90-bed in-patient block would be opened on December 29, he added.

IDG, Erasmic to invest in healthcare devise startup Perfit

Bangalore, Dec 27 (UNI) IDG Ventures India, a early-stage technology venture capital fund and Erasmic Venture Fund, today announced an investment of 3.5 million in Perfint, a Chennai based healthcare devices startup having its labs in Mysore. Perfint would focus on developing niche healthcare products and solutions that address clinical productivity needs globally. It's first product PIGA a tool positioner for image guided minimally invasive (IG-MI) procedures. Company CEO S Nandakumar told newspersons that Perfint had developed five IPs so far.....

Left parties will be briefed on India's talks with IAEA: Pranab

Bangalore, Dec 27 (UNI) The UPA government will brief the Left parties about the outcome of India's talks with International Atomic for Energy Agency (IAEA) on India-specific nuclear arrangements before arriving at a final conclusion, External Affairs Minister Pranab Kumar Mukherjee said here today. Speaking to newspersons on the sidelines of the 80th conference of Nikhil Bharat Banga Sahithya Sammelan, he said, "Currently we are engaged in discussions with IAEA.
