Owner, Contractor of blueline of Badarpur accident arrested

New Delhi, Dec 27 (UNI) The Delhi Police have solved the case of the October 7 Blueline accident in Badarpur, in which seven people were killed and 13 others injured, with the arrest of the owner and the contractor of the killer Blueline.

The Police last night arrested Manish Kakkar, the owner of the Blueline bus, from his house in Noida while Nawab Khan, the person who was running the bus on contract when the accident occured, was apprehended from his house in Badarpur.

Both Manish Kakkar and Nawab Khan had been absconding from their houses since the accident wherein the blueline bus operating on route number 460 ran over some bystanders at Mathura Road near the Aali Moar in the Badar Pur police station area, killing seven and leaving 13 others injured.

Upon interrogation, the accused Nawab Khan revealed that he along with the owner of the bus tampered the speed governor of the Blueline bus so that they could compete with other buses plying on the same route.

He said he had set the target of collecting Rs 3000 per day from each bus, which he was running on a contract basis.

Pranab Mukherjee is shoked at death of Benazir Bhutto

Kolkata, Dec 27 (UNI) External Affiars Minister Pranab Mukherjee today expressed shock and sorrow at the death of Benazir Bhutto and termed her as an adminstrator, who looked for the improvement of Indo-Pakistan realtions. Mr Mukherjee, who was in the city on his way to Delhi from Bangalore, told reporters " I heard with shock and sorrow about the death of Mrs Benazir Bhutto". "Mrs.Bhutto was brave and outstanding woman leader of the sub-continent and that she should fall to barbaric.....

Anti-people policies of govt behind Cong defeat in Gujarat: JD(U)

New Delhi, Dec 27 (UNI) Janata Dal (United) President Sharad Yadav today criticised the Congress for anti-common man policies and said that the Gujarat election results were due to peoples resentment with the UPA government. Mr Yadav, however, refused to comment on whether the BJP's victory was due to the policies of the state Chief Minister Narendra Modi's policies. The JD(U) leader said the resentment of the common man with the UPA government was not confined to Gujarat but has spread.....

Mrs Bhutto outstanding woman leader of sub-continent : Pranab

New Delhi, Dec 27 (UNI) External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee today described Pakistan's former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto as a ''brave and outstanding woman leader of the sub-continent,'' and said her assassination should strengthen the resolve to fight terrorism. Expressing shock and horror at the killing, the External Affairs Minister said Ms. Bhutto's contributions to democracy, improvement of India-Pakistan relations and the restoration of normalcy within Pakistan would be an inspiration. ''I heard with shock and horror of the death.....
