Nickel, copper wire

Mumbai, Dec 27 (UNI) Prices of nickel cathode, copper wire bars and brass cuttings in ferrous and non-ferrous metal segments today maintained an upward trend on brisk industrial users' demand, along with bullish advices from domestic centres like Kolkata and Delhi, traders at Bombay Metal Exchange (BME) said.

In ferrous metal segment (per quintal), brass cuttings and copper utensils rosed by Rs 400 and Rs 100 per quintal respectively on sustained heavy industrial buying support by local dealers.

In non ferrous metal group (per quintal) copper wire bars, zinc slab and lead ingots hiked by Rs 100 each while nickel cathode prices also advanced by Rs ten per kg on renewal better buying support in the face of lesser ready stocks.

Following are the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy - Rs 33,400, copper utensils - Rs 317,00, brass utensils - Rs 247,00, brass cuttings - Rs 25,400 and aluminium utensils - Rs 10,400 per kg.

Non-ferrous metals: Copper wire bars - Rs 36,700, aluminium ingots - Rs 12,000, zinc slab - Rs 12,800, lead ingots Rs 12,100, tin slab - Rs 795 and nickel cathode - Rs 1,395 per kg.

DHVBN completes HVDS in 100 villages

Chandigarh, Dec 27 (UNI) The Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) has completed the work of erection of High Voltage Distribution System (HVDS) or Aerial bunched/Armoured /Shielded Cables Based Distribution System (ABCDS) in 100 villages under its 'Revenue Protection Project'. A DHBVN spokesman today said the Nigam was laying distribution system of international standard in villages under this prestigious project. In the villages having more than 300 houses, there would be HVDS while in the villages having up to 300.....

5 people arrested with 600 litres of synthetic milk

Mumbai, Dec 27 (UNI) The city police arrested five people for trying to supply synthetic milk to people at Khar Danda in the Western suburbs here today, and recovered 600 liters from their possession. According to police, the accused were arrested while they were trying to deliver the milk to customers this morning. Police officials suspect a big racket behind the sale of adulterated milk, and hope to find many more links with these arrests. UNI.....

Kandhmal limping back to nomalcy: CM
