MP Cong condemns case against former minister

Bhopal, Dec 27 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee today condemned the filing of a case under the Indian Penal Code's Section 307 against party MLA and former minister Harvansh Singh and described it as an act of political vendetta.

''The case was registered following a state government directive and exerting pressure on police. Mr Singh is heading a state-level committee to take forward the agitation on the dumpers' purchase issue in which Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan is embroiled,'' General Secretary Manak Agrawal said in a statement issued here.

He warned that the Congress would take to the streets if the case was not withdrawn.

Emergency CWC meeting tomorrow to condole Benazir's assassinatio

New Delhi, Dec 27 (UNI) The Congress Working Comittee (CWC) will hold an emergency meeting tomorrow to condole the assassination of former Pakistan Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto. UAE condemns Bhutto's assassination

Dubai, Dec 27 (UNI) The UAE Foreign Affairs Minister today condemned the assassination of former Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto and called on the people of Pakistan to unify ranks in the face of vicious terror.
