Kuwait: Indian shot by youths, 2 arrested

Dubai, Dec 27: Kuwait Police arrested two national youths for injuring an Indian in the eye with a toy pistol, reported Al-Anba daily. The youths stopped the Indian who was not identified in the report on the pretext of asking directions to a house and shot him in the eye with a toy pistol. The plastic 'bullet' pierced the cornea of the Indian but he somehow managed to note down the registration number of vehicle ofthe ruthless youngsters which led to their arrest.

Beijing, Mar 16: A bus crash in southwestern China has killed 14 people and injured 12, state media today reported.A minibus carrying 26 people in Yunnan province overturned yesterday night and fell into a bamboo-covered valley, Xinhua news agency said, citing local police.Rescuers said 10 of the 26 passengers died immediately and four died in hospital.Yesterday morning, 22 people were killed when a bus veered off a highway and plunged into a reservoir in China's northwestern Shaanxi province.Nearly 99,000 people were.....

Puducherry, Mar 14: The Federation of Village Panchayat Presidents Associations will organise a 24-hour bandh here tomorrow, to press the government for the devolution of powers to the elected local body representatives in the Union Territory.Powers to the local body representatives were not devolved even after eight months of the civic elections here, which were held after a gap of 38 years.The MDMK, DPI, CPI(ML) and Tamizhar Desiya Iyyakkam have extended their support to the bandh.Meanwhile, police spruced up security arrangements.....
