GAIL and OIL to bid jointly in NELP-VII

New Delhi, Dec 27 (UNI) Gail and OIL India Ltd (OIL) today said the two companies will jointly participate in potential blocks, mainly onshore and offshore in the forthcoming NELP VII bidding round.

The two companies signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for joint cooperation in various business areas where the two public center enterprises will also examine the possibility of joint bidding for overseas exploration blocks and also securing farm-in options in already awarded exploration blocks in India and abroad.

Cooperation in transportation and marketing of Oil's share of gas from new discoveries through GAIL's existing pipeline network and new infrastructure by GAIL is also sought.

Further, Gail and Oil may consider examining joint participation in gas pipeline projects abroad including transnational gas pipeline projects.

The two companies will also examine joint implementation of city gas distribution projects in major cities of Assam and in other states through Joint Venture (JV) route along with interested third parties.

Similarly, GAIL and OIL will discuss cooperation in Coal-bed Methane (CBM) opportunities, petrochemicals sector in India and abroad including joint participation in the next CBM bidding round in India.

Administration swings in action over dumping of EPIC

Sultanpur, Dec 27 (UNI) The District administration here has swung in action over dumping of Election Photo Identity Card (EPIC) in the state capital, after an inquiry was initiated on orders of the state election commission. Collective approach a must to restore Dal Lake glory: Kundal

Srinagar, Dec 27 (UNI) Concerned over the deteriorating condition of the world famous Dal Lake, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Secretary B R Kundal has underscored the need for collective and coordinated approach to save the water body. Official sources said authorities have decided to disconnect electricity and water supply to all houses and other structures constructed illegally near the Lake. Cancel eviction notices served to poor farmers: BJP

Hyderabad, Dec 27 (UNI) The BJP today urged State Human Rights Commission Chairman Justice Subhashan Reddy to direct the state government to cancel the eviction notices served to poor farmers in East Godavari district.
