Dr Farooq expresses shock over Bhutto's killing

Jammu, Dec 27 (UNI) Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Dr Farooq Abdullah today expressed 'shock' over the assassination of former Pakistani Prime Minister, Benazir Bhutto while she was returning after addressing a rally at Rawalpindi.

''The death of Mrs Bhutto, is a big tragedy and a loss not only for Pakistan but for the entire South Asian countries,'' Dr Abdullah said.

Expressing concern over the condition in the neighbouring country, the National Conference patron said, ''the tragedy will effect the peace and democracy in the region.'' Terming Mrs Bhutto as a 'brave leader', he said both India and Pakistan should work together to carry forward the peace process, which was initiated by her.

Emergency CWC meeting tomorrow to condole Benazir's assassinatio

New Delhi, Dec 27 (UNI) The Congress Working Comittee (CWC) will hold an emergency meeting tomorrow to condole the assassination of former Pakistan Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto. ''The meeting will take place after AICC president Sonia Gandhi hosts the party flag at the headquarters on the Congress' foundation day tomorrow,'' party sources told UNI, adding such an emergency meet of the party's highest policy-making body was a rare occurence.
