Cong to chalk out poll strategy for K'taka soon: Moily

Bangalore, Dec 27 (UNI) Senior Congress leader M Veerappa Moily today said the party will soon chalk out poll strategies to bring back the party to power on its own in the coming mid-term elections to the Karnataka Assembly.

Talking to reporters here, he said the party would not repeat the mistakes committed in the just-concluded Gujarat Assembly polls.

''Mr Modi won the election by accident and the BJP's dream of coming to power in South India cannot be realised as the situation is different. The Congress will win at least 133 seats in the coming elections in the State,'' he said.

Mr Moily said the party would give tickets to candidates considering their previous performances and contribution to the party's growth.

To a question, he said the party would not project any one in particular as the Chief Ministerial candidate.

Referring to former Home Minister and JD(S) rebel leader M P Prakash's possible entry into the Congress, he said the party would consider inviting him into its fold as he was secular and was opposed to communal ideology.
