Cong appoints 12 divisional spokespersons in UP

Lucknow, Dec 27 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Congress unit today appointed 12 divisional spokespersons.

According to a party release, Arvind Kumar Pandey has been appointed as spokesperson in Gorakhpur Division.

Similarly, Dr Allauddin has been appointed at Bareilly, Chandra Pal Yadav at Azamgarh, Santosh Tyagi at Moradabad, Sanjay Jaiswal at Basti, Narendra Sharma at Saharanpur, Rajesh Khatri at Varanasi, Pradyuman Kumar at Chitrakoot, Ugrasen Mishra at Faizabad, Arvind Dubey at Jhansi, Samit Vibhav at Agra and Javed Urfi at Allahabad.

State unit president Dr Rita Bahuguna Joshi has called a meeting of divisional spokespersons at the state party office here on January 7.

BJP condemns continued violence in West Bengal

New Delhi, Dec 27 (UNI) The BJP today strongly condemned the violence against its candidate in the ahead of Bolagarh assembly bypoll in West Bengal by the 'goons' of the CPI-M and said that the ruling party was continuing to unleash violence against the Opposition after Nandigram. Chambal-Parvati-Kalisindh River-Linking Project

Bhopal, Dec 27 (UNI) With Madhya Pradesh and neighbouring Rajasthan agreeing in principle to the Chambal-Parvati-Kalisindh River-Linking Project, a memorandum of understanding is likely to be inked next year, official sources said. The Centre and the two states will possibly sign an agreement to prepare a detailed project report. Shipyard to come up at Haldia with Rs 2000 Cr.

Kolkata, Dec 27 (UNI) The West Bengal government has decided to acquire four mouzas under Sutahata police station in Haldia for setting up of a shipyard with a cost of Rs 2000 crore, state Chief Secretary Amit Kiran Deb said today. Mr Deb told mediapersons after a cabinet meeting that in all 500 acres of land would be acquired in Mahishadal, Madur, Sutahata and Nabagram for setting up the shipyard. The project was a joint venture between Bengal Shipyard and APJ.....
