Chennai, Dec 27: As many as 27 countries were expected to participate in the ninth 'auto expo' to be organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in New Delhi from January 10, 2008.
Talking to newspersons here today, CII Co-Chairman for Manufacturing Competitiveness P S Rajamani said the six-day event would witness over 1,900 auto component manufacturers showcasing a variety of products. "We would set up 'focus pavilions' exclusively for accessories/car decor, alternate fuel and gas, auto enterprise, design, diesel, garage equipment and robo expo," he added. Mr Rajamani said more than ten lakh visitors were expected to take part in the event.
"This will be the largest ever overseas participation with Canada, China, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Spain, Taiwan, the UK and the US taking part in it," he said.
The representatives from Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association, Korea Automobile Manufacturers Association and UK-based Society of Vehicle Manufacturers and traders were also expected.
