214 Haj pilgrims arrive from Jeddah, fog delays flight

Srinagar, Dec 27 (UNI) As many as 214 Haj pilgrims from different parts of Jammu and Kashmir returned here this afternoon from Jeddah in a special flight after performing the pilgrimage.

With this a total of 630 pilgrims returned so far out of more than 8000 pilgrims of the state who performed Haj this year.

The flight was delayed due to fog and relatives and civil, police and airport officials had to wait for several hours at Sheikh-I-Aalam airport to receive the Hajis.

Rahul Bakshi leads by five strokes at Sunfeast All India

New Delhi, Dec 27 (UNI) Chandigarh's Rahul Bakshi despite carding a two-over 74 emerged as the leader after the penultimate round of the Sunfeast All India Junior/Sub-Junior Golf Championship here today. The young Chandigarh golfer was three-under 213 for the tournament. Lee empahasises on virtue of patient

Melbourne, Dec 27 (UNI) Aussie pace spearhead Brett Lee today emphasised the importance of patience as an essential ingredient of success. 2008 Pune Commonwealth Youth Games to be biggest ever

New Delhi, Dec 27 (UNI) Indian Olympic Association (IOA) President Suresh Kalmadi today said the 2008 Commonwealth Youth Games in Pune will be the biggest ever held. Seventy-one countries will take part in the third edition of the Youth Games from October 12-18 next year in Pune, Kalmadi's home constituency.
