Gujarat, who made 192 in their first essay, were 98 for two, a total lead of 187 with eight second innings wickets intact at the close of the day's play.
It was a disastrous batting performance from Madhya Pradesh with as many as eight of their batsmen failing to reach double figures.
A Singh, who took four wickets, was the pick of the Gujarat bowlers on a day which saw 11 wickets falling.
Resuming on their overnight score of three for the loss of one wicket, MP received a jolt early on when J Saxena was sent back by J Trivedi.
Thereafter, MP lost wickets at regular intervals as their innings folded up for a mere 93 runs.
In Gujarat's second innings, P Patel was not out on 15 at the draw of stumps.
