Mumbai, Dec 14 (UNI) ''When it comes to a choice between investing in India and China, we choose India because India is a democracy and we see stability here for the next 30 years,'' said Stefano Checchin.

He is a part of a 48-member Italian delegation which has come to India as part of the Italian Festival sponsored by the Indo Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and ICE(Italian Trade Commission).
Stefano Checchin said, ''India is going through a rapid transformation after opening up of the market in the 1990's. Like any other countries spread across the world, India too usually prefers Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) flows to other forms of external finance. The reason being that FDI's are non-debt creating, non-volatile and their returns depend on the performance of their project financed by the investors.'' ''If a large company decided to invest in India, not only will this profit the country monetarily but also the people involved will appreciate and inculcate new managerial skills and professional practices,'' he added.
