Ultras gun down man, blow school building in Chatra

Chatra, Dec 14 (UNI) CPI(Maoist) gunned down one person and triggered explosion at a high school in Pandeypura village under Hunterganj police station area in this district of Jharkhand last night.

Police today said the deceased, identified as Arvind Tiwary, was engaged in a programme organised at the school premises when the ultras shot him dead. They also left a pamphlet stating that the victim had connections with rival outfit Tritiya Prastuti Committee.

The ultras damaged the school building and computer systems by triggering the blast, the police added.

Cabinet approves protection to NRG's properties in Goa

Panaji, Dec 14 (UNI) The Goa Government has today announced extending legal protection to the ancestral properties of Goans residing abroad. The state Cabinet approved amendment in the Goa, Daman and Diu Buildings Lease, Rent, Eviction Control Act, 1968 empowering the Government to provide ancestral properties of non-resident Goans with legal protection. The draft bill amending the Act would come up before the next session of the Legislative Assembly for consideration and approval, Chief Minister Digambar Kamat told mediapersons. UNI.....

Passengers were off-loaded as they turned violent: GoAir

Mumbai, Dec 14 (UNI) Jeh-Wadia-owned private air carrier GoAir today said it had to off-load 24 passengers on board its Mumbai-Ahmedabad flight yesterday evening, as they got abusive and violent with their employees at the Mumbai airport. Reacting to a report, which appeared in a section of media saying that at least 24 passengers on G8-107 GoAir Mumbai-Ahmedabad flight were stranded at the Mumbai airport as the flight took off without them at 0115 hrs this evening, a GoAir spokesperson said,.....

J'khand govt approves Rs 250 cr package for HEC

Ranchi, Dec 14 (UNI) The Jharkhand government today approved of about Rs 250 crores for revival of public sector unit Heavy Engineering Corporation here. The cabinet approved it in a meeting held at the state Secretariate here. Cabinet Secretary N N Pandey said according to the package, the state government would provide about Rs 250 crores to the HEC for its revival against which the corporation would directly transfer 2,342 acres of land to the state government as Jharkhand State Electricity.....
