Tantrik, 2 others awarded life term for murdering couple

Yamunanagar, Dec 14 (UNI) A 'tantrik', his wife and an associate were sentenced to life imprisonment by a local court for murdering a couple to grab their property.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Darshan Singh awarded Tantrik Irfan, his wife Hamida and their associate Zulfan for killing Ahmad and his wife Afsana on March 6, 2006.

Ahmad was suffering from a chronic ailment and he along with his wife had come to Irfan for treatment where the three convicts killed them for the sake of their property. Their bodies were found in Saharanpur later.

The judge also imposed a fine of Rs 15,500 against Irfan, Rs 6,000 against Zulfan and Rs 5500 against Hamida.

RBI Governor expects 8.5 pc GDP growth in current fiscal
