Siddaramaiah demands inquiry into allegations against JD(S) by BJP

Mysore, Dec 14(UNI) Former Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister and Congress leader Siddaramiah today demanded an inquiry into the corruption charges leveled on previous coalition partners JD(S) and BJP ministers in the state.

Addressing a press conference here, he said that both the BJP and JD(S), including former Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy and Deputy Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa have indulged in leveling corruption charges on each other and a through inquiry can bring out the facts.

"Let them expose themselves by providing the necessary documents for which both of them are claiming should be kept before the people.", he added.

He alleged that the parties which had run the government and misleading the people of the state on the corruption in various levels. They should submit what they have the documents to the governor and urge Governor Rameshwar Thakur to take up an inquiry on the allegations made themselves.

Mr Siddaramaiah said that Pradesh Congress Committee is also planning to demand CBI inquiry on the misdeeds of the previous BJP-JD(S) coalition government.

Replying to a question, he said that if Congress comes to power in the State it would order an inquiry into the alleged misdeeds of the previous government.

Referring to the BJP's claim of sympathy wave in the state, Mr Siddramiah said that it was only their day dream and no such wave in the state. He also predicted that BJP would not win more than 50 seats in the coming assembly elections in the state while JD(S) would be whipped out. Only Congress has capability to provide good governance in the state.

On the JD(S) rebel leader M P Prakash and other leaders joining the Congress party, he said he had already talked to Mr Prakash and even the KPCC President Mallikarjuna Kharge and former Chief Minister Dharam Singh had expressed their views that the party would welcome if the other leaders joining the party.
