CBI's 2nd witness testifies in Babri Masjid demolition case

Rae Bareli, Dec 14: R K Swamy, a CBI witness in the Babri Masjid demolition case, today submitted his statement in the court of special judge Vanshraj Singh.

Swamy, then deputy commandant of CRPF, was stationed with his unit near the Babri Masjid on December 6, 1992, the day of demolition. Former BJP President L K Advani alongwith former Union Ministers M M Joshi, Uma Bharti, senior BJP leader Vinay Katiyar, VHP leaders Ashok Singhal, Vishnu Hari Dalmiya, Acharya Giriraj Kishore and Sadhvi Ritambhara are the main accused in the case.

The first witness testified in the court on December five. The next date for hearing is December 22.

Security on alert at Ayodhya after terror threat

Ayodhya, Aug 28: Security was beefed up at the railway station and the 'Sawan Jhoola Mela' area in Faizabad district following a threat to blow up Kaifiyat Express and Sabarmati Express here today, police said.
