Passengers were off-loaded as they turned violent: GoAir

Mumbai, Dec 14 (UNI) Jeh-Wadia-owned private air carrier GoAir today said it had to off-load 24 passengers on board its Mumbai-Ahmedabad flight yesterday evening, as they got abusive and violent with their employees at the Mumbai airport.

Reacting to a report, which appeared in a section of media saying that at least 24 passengers on G8-107 GoAir Mumbai-Ahmedabad flight were stranded at the Mumbai airport as the flight took off without them at 0115 hrs this evening, a GoAir spokesperson said, ''As part of our employee protection and safety policy, this group of passengers was offloaded.'' The problem is believed to have started when the flight, slated for 2305 hrs was rescheduled for 0105hrs and despite these passengers having secure boarding passes, took off without them.

There were some 55 passengers, who had booked for the Ahmedabad flight.

Cold claims 3 lives in UP, toll rises to 38, more snow in HP

New Delhi, Dec 14 (UNI) Intense cold conditions in Uttar Pradesh claimed three more lives overnight taking the nationwide death toll to 38 as Himachal Pradesh experienced fresh snowfall and rains lashed isolated places in Punjab and Haryana . The fresh deaths were reported from Badaun, Kaushambi and Kanpur districts of UP while chilly winds blew across the state capital, gripped by dense fog during the early hours.
