Mentally unsound boy commits suicide on second attempt

Shahdol, MP, Dec 13 (UNI) A station house officer's mentally unsound 22-year-old son has committed suicide by touching a power cable after climbing onto the roof of a railway locomotive near Anuppur district's Venkatnagar Station, Government Railway Police said.

Yadvendra lay on the tracks yesterday but the 406 Bilaspur Passenger's alert driver brought the train to a halt in time. But before the railwaymen could reach the youth, he furtively climbed atop the locomotive and took the extreme step. Yadvendra died on the spot.

The youth's father is posted at Satna district's Uchehra and had sent his son to Rewa for treatment just two days back.

Sanskrit mantras to open Colorado State Senate

Washington, Dec 14 (UNI) Colorado State Senate of US will reverberate with Sanskrit mantras for the first time on January 29. Rajan Zed, a prominent Hindu chaplain, will read the historic opening prayer from ancient Sanskrit scriptures before Colorado Senate in Denver on this day. After Sanskrit delivery, he then will read the English translation of the prayer.
