Mahindra Holidays files DRHP with SEBI

Chennai, Dec 14 (UNI) Mahindra Holidays and Resorts India Limited, a leisure hospitality provider and part of Mahindra Group of companies, had filed its Draft Red Herring Prospectus (DRHP) with the SEBI for an initial public offering of 10,719,347 equity shares of Rs ten each.

Talking to newspersons here today, company Managing Director Ramesh Ramanathan said the issue would constitute 13 per cent of the fully diluted post-isssue paid-up capital of the company.

The issue comprises a fresh issue of 4,122,826 equity shares and an offer of sale of 6,596,521 equity shares by Mahindra Holdings and Finance Limited (the selling shareholder), he added.

Mr Ramesh said the objects of the issue, including financing the expansion of some of its existing resorts and setting up new projects.

The company had planned to construct new resorts and projects in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Rajasthan, Uttaranchal, Himachal Pradesh and Maharashtra, he added.

R K Anand withdraws petition in SC in BMW case

New Delhi, Dec 14 (UNI) Senior Advocate R K Anand, who is facing allegations of trying to win over a prosecution witness in BMW case to save his client, today withdrew his petition in the Supreme Court seeking a transfer of his case to a Delhi High Court bench in which Justice Manmohan Sareen is not sitting. A Bench comprising Justices Arijit Pasayat and Aftab Alam permitted counsel for Anand to withdraw his petition. The apex court had earlier.....

Drug smuggler sentenced to four year imprisonment in Kashmir

Srinagar, Dec 14 (UNI) For the first time in about two decades, a local court in south Kashmir has sentenced a drug smuggler to four year imprisonment. The Principal District and Sessions judge, Anantnag, Mohammad Shafi Khan sentenced Zakir Hussain Sheikh, a drug smuggler, to four year rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 20,000. Sheikh was arrested by police, along with about one kg charas, near the Jawahar tunnel when he was trying to smuggle it outside the valley.....

Three killed, 16 injured in road accident

Kancheepuram, Dec 14 (UNI) Three people were killed and 16 others seriously injured when a mini-lorry hit the median near Madurantakam on the Chennai-Tiruchirapalli National Highway late last night. Police sources said the victims, all construction labourers, were proceeding to Dindivanam from Chennai to attend a funeral when the mishap occurred. Police identified the victims as Subramani (52), Ramadass (55) and Chellappa (42). While five of the injured were shifted to a government hospital in Chennai, the others were.....
