Maharashtra Seamless bags $ 40 mln export orders

New Delhi, Dec 14 (UNI) D P Jindal Group's flagship company, Maharashtra Seamless Ltd (MSL), today said it has been awarded export orders worth 40 million dollars from the US and Latin America.

''These supplies would support the drilling programmes of oil and gas majors in the US and Latin America,'' a company statement said.

Export is a big thrust area for seamless pipes in view of massive rise in exploration and drilling activities worldwide.

''Realising this, MSL is already in active discussion with major global oil and gas companies like Shell and Occidental for further market penetration,'' the statement added.

To meet the customer requirements and to support the export functions, the company has also opened an export branch in the US to facilitate better services and customer support to its large base of OCTG and Line pipes customers in the US, Canada and Latin America.

Recently, the US authorities have initiated anti-dumping duty investigation against Chinese pipes and have already imposed preliminary Countervailing Duty. This would pave the way for better market share in the US for others and Indian players.
