Lalu gets breather in fodder scam case till Jan seven

Ranchi, Dec 14 (UNI) Railway Minister and RJD president Lalu Prasad today got a breather till January seven in connection with RC 39A/96 of Dumka treasury, one of the multi-crore rupee fodder scam cases, unearthed in unified Bihar in 1990s.

Jharkhand High Court passed the order in response to a writ petition, filed by Mr Prasad, the former Bihar Chief Minister, and three other accused - Dr K M Prasad, former Animal Husbandry Department officer, Vidya Sagar Nishad and Dr Rabindra Kumar Rana - both former Legislaotrs.

Justice R R Prasad granted time because the lawyers of the High Court today abstained from work, protesting yesterday's incident in which Amit Dey, an advocate of the High Court, was mudered by some criminals near Hinoo area in the city.

GFH, Maharashtra govt sign deal to set up EDZ at USD 10 bn

Mumbai, Dec 14 (UNI) West Asia investment banking major Gulf Finance House (GFH) today signed a deal with Government of Maharashtra to develop a ten billion dollar economic development zone (EDZ) near Mumbai. The zone, located along the Mumbai-Pune expressway on an area of 1,600 acres, will include an energy city, software city, telecom city and an entertainment city, GFH said here. CLP blames TDP for obstructing development in AP

Hyderabad, Dec 14 (UNI) The Congress Legislature Party (CLP) today blamed the opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) for putting hurdles in the welfare schemes and developmental activities taken up by the State Government. 'Probe must in JD-S, BJP corruption charges'

Mysore, Dec 14: Former Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister and Congress leader Siddaramiah today demanded an inquiry into the corruption charges levelled against previous coalition partners Janata Dal(S) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ministers in the State.
