Khargone, Sanver bypoll counting tomorrow

Bhopal, Dec 14 (UNI) Votes polled in the byelections to Khargone Lok Sabha and Sanver Assembly constituencies in western Madhya Pradesh will be counted tomorrow.

All arrangements have been made for the counting of votes polled in Khargone constituency at Khargone and Badwani, while the votes polled in Sanver will be counted at Indore, official sources said. Counting will start at 0800 hours and results are expected around noon.

About 55 per cent of the 12,91,572 electorate in Khargone and 60 per cent of 1,71,833 voters in Sanver had exercised their franchise on Wednesday. Eleven candidates each were in the fray in both the constituencies.

Khargone seat fell vacant due to disqualification of BJP leader Krishna Murari Moghe on the Office of Profit issue, while state BJP minister Prakash Sonkar's death caused the bypoll in Sanver.

Mr Moghe is again in the fray in Khargone taking on MPCC chief Subhash Yadav's son Arun Yadav (Congress) and Sanjay Jhanwar of Bharatiya Janshakti as his main rivals.

Mr Tulsi Silawat(Cong), Mr Santosh Malaviya of BJP and Mr Ranjit Sonkar (BJ) are the prominent candidates in Sanver.

RGU gets Rs 12 crore for hostels, auditorium

Itanagar Dec 14 (UNI) The Union Tribal Affairs ministry has alloted Rs 2.9 crore for construction of 100-seater separate hostels for boys and girls in Rajiv Gandhi University, the lone varsity of the state. Official sources said here today the DoNER ministry had also sanctioned Rs ten crore for construction of an auditorium with 1000 seating capacity in the university campus. The auditorium would be known as Rajiv Gandhi Arunachal Convention Centre, sources added. A proposal for a 150-capacity conference.....

Bharti Shipyard delivers tug to Qatar company

Mumbai, Dec 14 (UNI) Bharati Shipyard, one of the leading private sector shipyards in the country, today handed over a 65-tonne bollard pull, anchor handling tug cum supply vessel, to Qatar-based Halul Offshore Services Company. The 64-meter vessel is propelled by two Yanmar diesel engines of 2,207 KW each. The vessel is custom designed, tailored to the owner requirements of Lloyds Register of Shipping.
