Honeymooning Pak bride lands in Agra jail

Agra, Dec 14: A starry-eyed Pakistani bride honeymooning in the Taj City has landed in an Agra jail for alleged breach of visa norms.

The police produced the bride, Shaba Shehzadi, in a city court yesterday, which sent her to jail till December 24. Police today said British citizen of Pakistani origin Arif Butt had married Shaba recently and the newly-wed couple selected India for their honeymoon. While, Arif possessed an all-India visit visa, Shaba's visa was valid for Delhi only.

However, they came to the Taj City on Wednesday and checked-in to a hotel in Tajganj area.

When the Local Intelligence Unit (LIU) checked their visas, the infringement of the visa norm by Shaba came to light.

Arif even produced a letter written by London Member of Parliament David Crush recommending for his visa, but to no avail.

Meanwhile, the court will today hear the bail application of Shaba.
