Gurunanakdev, Osmania Universities advance in league matches

Guntur, Dec 14 (UNI) Gurunanakdev and Osmania Universities advanced in the womens section of league matches in the four-day all India Inter-Zonal Inter-university Netball tournaments here today.

Guru Nanakdev university outplayed Pt Ravi Shankar Shukla University 41-36, while Osmania University trounced Bharathidasan University 56-31.

In another match, hosts Acharya Nagarjuna University beats Annamalai University 50-17.

The match between Kurukshetra University and Punjab University ended on an exciting note as both teams played extremely well to draw it at 38-38.

Tournament organisers told UNI that four teams each in Pool-A and Pool-B would compete with the other teams in both the men and women sections for entering the knock-out stage by virtue of points secured in the league matches.

Following are the teams Pool-A women: Pt Ravi Shankar University, Raipur, Osmania University, Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirapalli and Gurunanakdev University, Amritsar Pool-B: Acharya Nagarjuna University, Kurukshetra University, Punjab University and Annamalai University.

Pool-A men: University of Delhi, Osmania University, Kurukshetra University and Gurunanakdev University Pool-B: Acharya Nagarjuna University, Punjab University Patiala, Bangalore University and University of Pune.

Former players criticise EB-Bagan for failure

Kolkata, Dec 14 (UNI) The former soccer players and coaches today blamed East Bengal and Mohun Bagan for their hopeless performance in the I-league.
