Ex-minister Ramachandran Nair is dead

Kochi, Dec 14 (UNI) Former Kerala Minister R Ramachandran Nair died after a prolonged illness at a private hospital here today.

He was 76 and is survived by wife and son.

Ramachandran Nair, admitted to the hospital on December nine, suffered a stroke in the morning and the end came at 1430 hrs, family sources said.

He was the Health and Devaswom Minister in the Karunakaran Ministry in 1991-94.

Hailing from Parumala in Pathanamthitta district, Mr Ramachandran had represented the Aranmula constituency in the Assembly.

Ramachandran Nair, a prominent leader of the Nair Service Society (NSS), had left active politics in 1995 due to health reasons.

The last rites would be held at his home town tomorrow.

Five killed in Mumbai building collapse

Mumbai, Dec 14: At least five people were killed and 15 others injured after a two-storey building collapsed in Shimpoli area of Borivli on Friday. Many people are feared trapped under the debris. Woman die after being administered wrong injection

Sehore, MP, Dec 14 (UNI) A woman has died after she was administered wrong injection at a government hospital in this district, official sources said today. Khadigaon village-resident Rani B, who was bitten by dog, had gone for getting fourth Rabies injection but nurse Alka Sarathe administered her a wrong injection for making her unconscious. Agricultural college students face ragging

Sehore, MP, Dec 14 (UNI) More than 20 students of the Rafi Ahmed Agricultural College here have complained about being ragged by their seniors. A complaint in this regard has been made to college administration and the Superintendent of Police by concerned students, who are studying in BSc (Agriculture) first year. The students, on the condition of anonymity, said senior students, including girls, were ragging them since past one month. Junior boy students had been stripped, while vulgar remarks were passed.....
