Delhi struggling at 239 for four

Visakhapatnam, Dec 14 (UNI) In reply to Maharashtra's massive 594, Delhi were struggling at 239 for four at stumps on day three of the semi final in all India under-22 C K Nayudu trophy here today.

Delhi's Rahul Deewan with unbeaten 125 with 18 boundaries and Ankur Julka's unbeaten 24 strenghthened the innings with a fifth wicket partnership of 67 runs. Earlier, Ramansachadeva scored 30 with the help of four fours.

Ajinkya Joshi was the pick of the bowlers with 2 for 36.

In the other semi final match, in reply to Karnataka's first innings score of 292, Mumbai were all out for 376.

Ahmed Nizam's 54 including two fours and three sixes and Omkar Gurv's unbeaten 48 with six bondaries added 99 runs for the ninth wicket. For Karnataka S L Akshay with 4 for 49 and Ryan Ninan with 2 for 111 emerged successful.

In the second innings, Karnataka were 164 with C Goutham scoring 24, Amit Varma 24, Raju Bathkal 31, Gourav Dhiman 28 and S Prajwal 27. Siddhartha Chindnis with 2 for 34 and Anup Revankar 2 for 13 were the pick of Mumbai bowlers.

High-level committee to revisit flood hit districts

Bangalore, Dec 14 (UNI) Karnataka Governor Rameshwar Thakur today said that a high level committee would be set up to revisit the flood hit districts of Bagalkot, Gadag and Dharwad. Talking to mediapersons, after a meeting with his advisors here, he said the committee, headed by his advisor P P Prabhu, would conduct a spot study of 198 villages affected by the flood in the last season and formulate rehabilitation and resettlement schemes. Bokaro Steel Plant's DGM died in accident

Bokaro, Dec 14 (UNI) A top official of Bokaro Steel Plant today died after falling into a coke oven in the plant this evening, official sources said. BSP's Deputy General Manager B K Govil while supervising the work at battery No. 4 of the coke oven site inside the plant accidently slipped off from about 20-foot high into the flame at around 1800 hours today. He was immediatey removed to Bokaro General hospital where he succumbed to injuries, hospital sources said......

UP govt to equip police with modernised weapons

Lucknow, Dec 14 (UNI) To uproot goons and mafias, the Mayawati government today decided to equip the Uttar Pradesh Police with modernised weapons and equipment. The decision to provide the police with updated weapons was taken at a high-profile meeting today, Principal Secretary (home) J N Chamber told reporters here this evening.
