CLP blames TDP for obstructing development in AP

Hyderabad, Dec 14 (UNI) The Congress Legislature Party (CLP) today blamed the opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) for putting hurdles in the welfare schemes and developmental activities taken up by the State Government.

Addressing a press conference here, Government Chief Whip N Kiran Kumar Reddy said TDP President N Chandrababu Naidu was obstructing the developmental works during the last three and a half years as he could not digest the good name earned by the Congress Government from the public.

He said Mr Naidu and other TDP leaders were desperate and making ''baseless'' allegations against the Government, which had taken up various welfare programmes, including free power supply, ration cards, houses and pensions to all poor people, irrigation projects under Jalayagnam and Indiramma programmes for the benefit of the common man.

The Congress leader said the recent statements of Mr Naidu had indicated that the TDP was losing its image in public as he never bothered about the problems of the common people and the farmers during his nine-year rule in the State.
