Barnala condoles death in bus-train collision

Chennai, Dec 14 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Governor S S Barnala today conveyed his sincere condolences to the family members of those killed in the bus-train collision in Moga district of Punjab today.

In a condolence message here, the Governor said ''I am deeply shocked to hear about the tragic accident in which several people, mostly students and teachers were killed and many were injured in the mishap''.

Thiruvananthapuram, Dec 14 (UNI) The Kerala Government today prepared a Draft Annual Plan worth Rs 7,605 crore for 2008-09, effecting a hike of Rs 655 crore as compared to the previous year. Talking to newspersons after attending a State Planning Board meeting, Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan said local bodies would get a sum of Rs 1,877 crore in the next financial year. Stating that the emphasis would be given on agriculture, IT and tourism, he said the plan size.....

Kolkata, Dec 14 (UNI) Railway Minister Lalu Prasad announced a compensation of Rs five lakh each for the families of those killed in the bus-train accident in Punjab's Moga district today. The Minister, who was here, also announced a compensation of Rs 50,000 each for those critically injured and Rs 15,000 each for the people, who suffered minor injuries.
