Ascetic, 2 others killed in Vindhyachal ashram

Mirzapur, Dec 14 (UNI) Three people were hacked to death by unidentified miscreants at an ashram in Vindhyachal area here late last night, police today said.

The deceased included an ascetic Mauni Baba and his disciple Baburam, police said.

The reason behind the murder was yet to be ascertained.

However, it was learnt that some influential people were forcing Baba to leave the ashram, which resulted in the crime that came to light this morning, when other disciples reached the ashram.

The third person killed was identifed as Ashok Yadav, a milkman.

Getting the information, Police Superintendent P D Paulson and other senior officials rushed to the spot.

Srinagar, Dec 14 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir High Court has directed the state police to produce case diary of alleged custodial death of one Ghulam Rasool Lone, at Kulgam in 2001. GFH, Maharashtra govt sign deal to set up EDZ at USD 10 bn

Mumbai, Dec 14 (UNI) West Asia investment banking major Gulf Finance House (GFH) today signed a deal with Government of Maharashtra to develop a ten billion dollar economic development zone (EDZ) near Mumbai. The zone, located along the Mumbai-Pune expressway on an area of 1,600 acres, will include an energy city, software city, telecom city and an entertainment city, GFH said here.
