2 brothers setenced to life imprisonment for killing neighbour

Srinagar, Dec 14 (UNI) A local court in north Kashmir sentenced to life imprisonment two brothers who stoned to death a neighbour two decades ago.

The Additional Sessions Judge, Baramulla, Mr Abdul Rashid Bhat also sentenced 12 other accused to one month imprisonment and a fine of Rs 200 each.

The court awarded the sentence after hearing arguments from lawyers of both the sides.

According to the case reports in 1988 there was some dispute between Mohammad Ramzan and Ghulam Mohammad with his neighbour Mohammad Sadeeq.

However, one day Ramzan and Ghulam Mohammad attacked Sadeeq with stones. Sadeeq collapsed after one of the stone hit him on the head.

However, he was shifted to hospital where he was declared brought dead.

Action against police officers not submitting service arms

Patna, Dec 14 (UNI) The Bihar government today announced to take action against the Indian Police Service (IPS) officers who had failed to submit their service revolvers either after their transfer or retirement. Aizawl, Dec 14(UNI) The opposition Congress today said that Mizoram is on the brink of famine as the "corrupt" MNF government "failed" to combat the devastation by 'Mautam' (bamboo flowering) related rodents despite sufficient central funds. The state is on the brink of a food crisis despite sufficient central funds to meet the situation arising out of 'Mautam', the opposition alleged. Central team visit brings hope for relief

Aizawl, Dec 14 (UNI) The visit of the central inter-ministerial team has brought some hope for necessary central aids to relieve the maladies of monsoon and "Mautam" (bamboo flowering) in Mizoram.
