15,739 IG units set up in north Kashmir

Srinagar, Dec 14 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir government has provided financial assistance of Rs 233 crore to set up 15,739 income generating (IG) units in Baramulla district of north Kashmir.

Under the Credit Action Plan, 15,739 IG units with a financial assistance of Rs 233 crore have been set up in the district during the first six months of current fiscal, an official spokesman said today.

Of these, he said, 9,602 units have been established under the priority sector, while the remaining are under the non-priority sector.

The Dubai Court of First Instance sentenced the Pakistani workers to one year in jail each, after they were convicted of having unnatural sex with the Indian. They will be deported after serving their punishment. The two accused pleaded innocent and denied forcing their 25-year-old colleague into a washroom, threatening him with a razor and having unnatural sex with.....

Political parties to set fresh date for Nepal polls

Kathmandu, Dec 14: Majority of the parties in the ruling Seven Party Alliance (SPA) in Nepal have reached an understanding to set a fresh date for Constituent Assembly elections and declaring the Himalayan nation a republic. "Platinum Jubilee" Sammelana at Chitradurga next year

Udupi, Dec 14(UNI) The "Platinum Jubilee" Akhila Bharatha Sahitya Sammelan will be held in Chitradurga next year. The Kannada Sahitya Parishat Executive Committee which met here last night took a decision to this effect. Parishat President Chandrashekar told newsmen that though there was keen fight between Bellary and Chitradurga to host the event, the Committee, through secret ballot, selected Chitradurga as the venue.
