Infosys launches 'Infosys BPO Idol' for staff

Bangalore, Dec 13: The Infosys BPO has come out with a unique event to bolster the morale of its staff besides building team spirit and camaraderie among its workers by launching the Infosys BPO Idol, a nationwide campus talent search for the voice of Infosys BPO.

Infosys BPO had always maintained that engaging employees in activities showcasing talent was a sure motivator. Seldom employees get a chance to pursue passion and hobbies at work spaces. When an organisation makes the choice and effort of allowing employees to be involved in activities other than business related roles, they are creating a social fabric that is both stimulating and personally gratifying.

The Infosys BPO Idol kicked off on October 12 with more than a hundred participants from Bangalore alone. The national finals would be held at the Infosys BPO campus here on December 21, witnessing competition between the Bangalore, Pune and Jaipur finalists.

Participating employees would be judged on the basis of their vocal talent and overall performing ability. The format for the contest involves elimination rounds leading up to the finals and an internal SMS voting system. The national finals would involve competition between the top seven finalists from Bangalore, Pune and Jaipur.

Celebrity judge Kavita Krishnamurthy would preside over the finals. The grand prize is a trip for two to Singapore.

''Infosys BPO Idol provides employees an opportunity to showcase their talent and helps to establish camaraderie and team spirit on campus. We would like our employees to come together to commemorate the spirit that is Infosys BPO,'' said Nandita Gurjar, Group Head, HR, Infosys Technologies. ''We believe in celebrating employee talent on campus and Infosys BPO Idol is our attempt to provide employees a platform to showcase this talent,''she added.

The competition so far has witnessed 200 participants from Bangalore, Pune and Jaipur respectively.
