Announce support price as per Swaminathan Committee: AIKS

Machilipatnam, Dec 10: All India Kisan Sabha (AIKS) Vice-President K Nageswara Rao today said the Andhra Pradesh government should announce a support price for agricultural produce as per the recommendation of M S Swaminathan Committee.

He said the support price announced by government was meagre and it should take necessary steps to hike the MSP of sugarcane to Rs 1200 per metric tonne.

He said Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy had agreed to distribute 3,000 acres of land to the poor in the coastal region.
