Rahul Dave saves day for Saurashtra

Lucknow, Dec 3 (UNI) A sparkling unbeaten century by Rahul Rajendra Dave defied the Tamil Nadu bowlers attack on second day of the four-day Cooch Behar under 19 cricket championship at Chowk stadium here today.

In the other match at LDA stadium, Hyderabad restricted the Asom boys to 310 runs in the first innings.

The Saurashtra team scored 193 runs for the loss of 6 wickets against TN's 223 in the first innings. Barring 114 undefeated runs by Dave, none of the other batsmen resisted the attack effectively.

For the TN team, Gary Domenel (2/11) and M Kaushik (3/36) gave vital blows to Saurashtra team.

At the LDA stadium, the Asom team, who were going great guns on day one at 231 for 4 wickets- lost their remaining wickets adding only 79 more runs today at 310.

J'khand take vital 69 runs frist innings lead

Jamshedpur, Dec 03 (UNI) Host Jharkhand took vital 69 runs lead to pile up 405 for four in their first innings in reply to Goa's 336 all out on the penultimate day of the four-day Ranji trophy plate group B match at the Keenan stadium here today. Resuming at overnight 213 for Jharkhand captain Manish Vardhan, who was unbeaten on 113 along with Arun Vidyarthi (38 not out) continued from where they left yesterday. EC rejects Nawaz's nomination for polls

Lahore, Dec 3: Former Pakistan premier Nawaz Sharif has been barred from the January 8 general elections after the Election Commission rejected his nomination papers from the National Assembly seat in Punjab. Though the reason for the rejection of his nomination papers has not been made public, reports suggest that PML-N chief's papers were rejected on the ground of various cases pending against him, including the plane-hijacking case that followed the 1999 bloodless military coup by the then Army Chief, General Pervez.....

Khargone, MP, Dec 3 (UNI) Bharatiya Janshakti (BJ) President Uma Bharti today gave blessings Madhya Pradesh Congress President Subhash Yadav's son Arun Yadav, who is Congress nominee for Khargone Lok Sabha bypoll. Mr Arun Yadav's convoy stopped when it noticed Ms Bharti's convoy near Katargaon at Dhamnaud road. Mr Arun Yadav and former minister Vijaylakshmi Sadho went to meet Ms Bharti and the former touched the feet of the sadhvi, who blessed him. Speculations of cracks in the BJ has come.....
