372 in fray after scrutiny of nominations in HP polls


Shimla, Nov 30: Three hundred and seventy two candidates are in fray for the Himachal Pradesh polls, which are to be held on December 19, after scrutiny of nominations, state Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Manisha Nanda said today.

In all, nomination papers of 63 candidates were rejected during the scrutiny today, she said here.

Ms Nanda said 43 candidates are in fray from Shimla district, 28 from Solan district, 23 each from Sirmaur, Una and Bilaspur districts, 34 from Hamirpur district, 102 from Kangra district, 19 from Chamba district, 15 from Kullu district and 62 from Mandi district.

While polling would be held for the remaining 65 assembly constituencies on December 19, polling for the three tribal constituencies of Kinnaur, Lahaul Spiti and Bharmaur was held on November 14, she added.

UP blasts: BJP for elaborate security for HP polls
