President congratulates Kamlesh Sharma for C'wealth post

New Delhi, Nov 25: President Pratibha Patil today congratulated Kamlesh Sharma on his selection as Secretary General of the Commonwealth.''His selection emphasises the respect for India in the 53-member grouping and it is appreciable that he will become the first Secretary General from the country,'' Rashtrpati Bhawan spokesman said quoting the President as saying. Ms Patil was delighted by the honour bestowed on the diplomat, the spokesman added.
