Gandhinagar, Nov 21: Gujarat Governor Naval Kishore Sharma has issued notification today for filing nominations for the second phase of Gujarat Assembly elections on December 16 to elect 95 members to the 12th Assembly.
EC sources said here Governor gave approval to notify the process under section 15 (2) of the constitution.
The 95 constituencies, which will go to the polls in the second and last phase are spread across North and Central Gujarat. The last day for filing nominations is November 28, while the scrutiny of the nomination forms will be held on November 29. The last day for withdrawal of the nominations is December 1.
The Election Commission has made all arrangements to conduct smooth, free and fair second phase polling also and issued a series of directions to all officers involved in the exercise, sources said.
