Imran Khan to continue hunger strike till death


Islamabad, Nov 21: Cricketer-turned politician Imran Khan, who was arrested in Lahore early this week, has vowed to continue his hunger-strike till death.

In his written statement provided to the local media through his lawyer Hashim Sana advocate last evening, Mr Khan who is imprisoned in Dera Ghazi Khan jail in central Punjab, said the strike was against President Pervez Musharraf who imposed emergency and sacked the judges for his own personal interest to stay in power.

He was quoted as saying by The Nation newspaper that he would continue hunger-strike till the sacked judges are reinstated.

He invited all the political parties to support him on one-point agenda ignoring the political differences, while directing his workers to set up hunger-strike camps across the country.

The jail officials did not allow Senator Tariq Chaudhry to meet him. He was shifted from Lahore on November 16 after his arrest on November 14.
