Man-eater leopard kills child in Gir Forest

Junagadh, Gujarat, Nov 17 (UNI) A leopard killed a three-year-old child at Bhimdev village in Asiatic Lions Gir Sanctuary here.

According to official sources, the incident took place last night when Tejas Dilipbhai Baraiya was attacked and taken away by the man-eater leopard, while he was sleeping with his mother in their hut in Bhimdev village.

Tejas body was recovered today by the forest officials and villagers, from a nearby place this morning.

The victim's father, Dilipbhai, is a sugar-cane labourer, hailing from the neighbouring state of Maharashtra.

Gaur's family involved in dumper business

Gwalior, MP, Nov 17 (UNI) Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Babulal Gaur today admitted that his family was also involved in dumper business. ''Jansuvidha Enterprises belonged to my son and daughter-in-law. Both managed hotel and transport business. After my son's demise, the business is being managed by my daughter-in-law,'' said Mr Gaur, while replying to question by reporters whether their dumpers had been also engaged by J P Industries. However, he did not disclose how many dumpers he owned.....

PDP to set up Karnataka committee within 2 months

Mangalore, Nov 17 (UNI) PDP Chairman Abdul Nasir Madani, who is on a statewide tour in Karnataka to strengthen the party, today said the State level Committee of the party would be constituted within two months. Talking to newspersons at Ganjimata near Bajpe, Mr Madani on his way to Kasargod in Kerala, said the campaign for strengthening his party would be intensified after returning from Haj tour. He said the party would also hold a national level Social Justice Conference.....

Ritwik, Joshna storm into Western India squash open finals

Mumbai, Nov 17 (UNI) Men's and women's top seeds Ritwik Bhattacharya and Joshna Chinappa fashioned convincing wins to storm into the finals in the 64th CCI-Western India Open Squash Championship at the CCI here today. India No. 2 Bhattacharya warmed up for his title clash against second seed Sandeep Jangra with an impressive 9-1, 9-4, 9-3 win over former National champion Manish Chotrani in a semi-final that lasted just 32 minutes. Bhattacharya committed rare blemishes and sealed his win.....
