Five Indian entrepreneurs bag global awards

Singapore, Nov 17: The success of global Indian businesses again made headlines as five Indian enterprises were awarded during the 'Global Entropolis@Singapore' (GES) this week.

Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong presented the award in conjunction with the Asian Innovation Awards, an annual competition organised by The Wall Street Journal Asia.

UFO Moviez was selected from a record 265 entries from 16 countries in Asia-Pacific, and has revolutionised the way films are distributed and exhibited in India by making available movies 'first day, first show' in prestine quality, even to the remotest corner of the country.

The Global Indian Business Summit (GIBS), which is held as part of the GES, honoured the diaspora Indian community, especially the migrants who have gone overseas and established successful businesses.

It awarded the inaugural GIBS awards to the Indorama Group of Indonesia, Tolaram Group of Estonia, Varkey Group of the Middle East/Gulf region and Singapore's Gateway Distriparks.
