Yedi apprises K'taka situation to Advani

New Delhi, Nov 16: Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa today met senior BJP leader L K Advani apparently to discuss the Karnataka situation ahead of facing the vote of confidence on November 19 in the state Legislative Assembly. The 20-minute long meeting assumes significance as he will seek the vote of confidence in the Assembly and show the majority support in the 224-member assembly. The Chief Minister took over his office on November 12 and has to prove his majority before November 20.

BJP president Rajnath Singh, BJP vice-president Yashwant Sinha and party general secretary Ananth Kumar were present during the meeting at Mr Advani's residence, sources said.

The 12-point demands put forth by Janata Dal (Secular) president H D Deve Gowda will be under the consideration of the BJP leadership as it provides a major role for his son and former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy in running the coalition.


Mr Yeddyurappa is scheduled to lay wreath at the 'Samadhi' of Father of the Nation at Rajghat.

Yedi to seek confidence vote on Nov 19

Bangalore, Nov 18: Bookanakere Sidhalingappa Yeddyurappa, who was sworn as the first Chief Minister of Bharatiya Janata Party in South India in Karnataka on November 12, will face an acid test when he seeks vote of confidence tomorrow in the Assembly. Karnataka Governor Rameshwar Thakur had directed Mr Yeddyurappa to prove his strength after the swearing in ceremony. Mr Yeddyurappa had assumed office as the 26th chief minister of Karnataka after parading 129 supporting legislators before Governor and also before India President.....
