'Golden Chariot' to chug from Dec 23

Mysore, Nov 11: 'Golden Chariot' the ambitious project of Karnataka Tourism Department to boost ''tourism on track,'' will be launched on December 23.

The project was expected to commence on November 1, as a 'Rajyotsava' (state formation day) gift to the people. The 'on-track-tourism' would help several towns to figure in the tourism world map.

The idea of swanky services on the tracks, though not recent, got a fillip when the state government recently expressed its intion to introduce luxury trains. A trial run would be carried out in the next week, Department sources told UNI
