Pak Rangers greet BSF on Diwali


Jammu, Nov 9: Pakistan Rangers today greeted their Border Security Force (BSF) counterparts on the occasion of Diwali at various places along the international border in jammu and Kashmir, official spokesman said.

The main function was orgainsied at Octroi border outpost in Suchetgarh, about 35 kms from here, in R S Pura sector where senior officers held a special flag meeting.

Wing commander Pakistan Rangers, Lt Col Jamal Shah, handed over sweets to P S Bains, Commandant 129 BSF battalion. ''The Pakistani officer, on the behalf of Rangers, extended Diwali greetings to the BSF personnel,'' the spokesman said.

Besides, on company level Pakistan Rangers and BSF personnel exchanged greetings at various places along IB, he added.

Punjab: BSF jawans shot sarpanch and his son

Gurdaspur, May 19: Border Security Force (BSF) jawans shot dead a sarpanch and his teen-aged son in the border village of Thakurpur in this sector last night.
