Kalam to be conferred with Anuvrat Award-2006

Udaipur, Nov 6: Former President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam will be conferred with the Jai Tulsi Foundation's prestigious ''Anuvrat Award 2006'' for his contribution to the promotion of principles of non-violence and high moral values in social life.

A foundation spokesman said the award will be conferred upon Dr Kalam during a function scheduled to be held in Rajsamand town on December 30.

Kolhapur, Dec 4: The Consulate General of Japan and Mumbai have been selected for the ''Apang Mitra'' (friend of the handicapped) award instituted by the Helpers of the Handicapped (HH), Kolhapur. Pune-based businessman, Divyanshu Ganatra, who is visually impaired, has also been selected for the ''Bharari'' (great fight) award by the institute.
